SPM Valves

Gilmore Valve Company manufactures SPM valves for working pressures up to 10,000 psi in piston sizes from 1/2” to 2” with both hydraulic and pneumatic pilot actuation. Gilmore also offers single-pocket blocks and multiple-pocket manifolds for mounting configurations to suit your particular applications.

The Gilmore small poppet valves are similar to but smaller than an SPM valve and are as dirt tolerant as shear-seal designs of the same Cv. Soft seated with 100% metal backup (allowing for a rating of 10,000 psi) they feature a limited interflow design. Pilot pressures can be supplied to your requirements. Our compact, lightweight design makes them ideal where size and weight are critical factors. Materials of construction are 316 stainless steel and 17-4 ph stainless with engineered plastic seats such as Delrin or Peek available. Valves with this configuration have been tested through thousands of cycles with no discernible wear or seal deterioration.

APPLICATION:

Gilmore SPM valves are high-pressure, high-flow two-position, three-way directional control valves. SPM is an acronym for Sub-Plate Mounted and these valves are therefore installed in single- and multiple-pocketed blocks or manifolds. This allows for the removal and installation of the valve’s functional components for maintenance without disturbing the fluid connections. The design of the SPM valve is configured to an unactuated and default position as either Normally Open (NO) or Normally Closed (NC). Upon actuation, the valve configuration immediately moves to the opposite position, that is, either closing off the flow of fluid or allowing full flow.
